Come on now, Murdoch doesn't even have that kind of power any more. UKIP came first in the Euro elections despite the Murdoch machine doing everything in it's power to discredit them. The days of whoever they back winning are long gone. Things are changing in the internet age.

Then cue the Dirty Diggers investigation team to see what dirt they can come up with!

You don't think they are already doing it?

It doesn't take that much digging to come up with stuff on Walker, mainly because he is a convicted violent thug!

Read that in the newspapers did we?

Too slowly though.Newspapers can still set the news zeitgeist for the rest of the mainstream media. The BBC seems to take its news lead from the press instead of innovaying or setting the agenda more themselves.

People need to seek out independent /non mainstream media sources out more.

For foreign affairs Press TV gives plenty of perspectives and info not reported in our mainstream media,

Seeing that Farage is a Mk 2 tory, it's not surprising Murdoch gave him an audience. It would have been surprising if instead of Farage it had been Adam Walker who was summoned to meet that old man, but then Adam Walker is his own man, and would have politely told ol Rupert where to stick his didgeridoo.

Judging by his marriages, the one thing Digger still knows where to stick is his digeridoo.

Speculation rife in the newspapers this afternoon after Breitbart released a story that whilst Farage was doing the rounds in America and during a visit to Fox News, he was asked in to a private meeting with Rupert Murdoch.

Even if the Murdoch press doesn't decide to go with UKIP (Murdoch always backs the winner), this meeting may still send a warning sound to Cameron and Miliband. I hope that in this case, should Murdoch's papers endorse Farage and UKIP in 2015, Murdoch doesn't back the winner and we don't see a further lurch to the right by both the Tories and Labour as a result:

Why is this man still (or ever) allowed to manipulate our politics?

Probably upset that Cameron turned out to be a bit of a damp squid and failed to form a majority Government even with the scum rags backing and going up against the massively unpopular Gordon Brown.

    Very funny. :D

Have you ever seen a dry squid? :D

    LOL

UKIP will be lucky to win 5 seats let alone 255.

I have no idea why people are so sure they are on course to become a major force. Its not going to happen.

While certain sections of the country wet themselves endlessly about the influence of the Murdoch press, the reality is that the only power it has is over politicians, not the public. If they had any power at all, the Tories would have won in 2010.

The fact politicians court Murdoch is just testament to how out of touch they really are.

Oh well. That's all right then.

The story makes a bit more sense if you read his recent tweets:

"Scottish independence means huge black eye for whole political establishment, especially Cameron and Milliband."

"Scottish poll reflects world-wide disillusion with political leaders and old establishments leaving openings for libertarians and far left."

Murdoch's widely shared view is the current political system is broken. No one trusts the big parties. No one has faith in the big parties. No one likes the leaders of the big parties. And so they're more prepared than they ever have been to start voting for the alternatives.. and UKIP are the main alternative party now. It's not the Lib Dems. The Lib Dem's are lumped together with the other two.

The big difference now is voting for UKIP isn't a dirty secret. It's something people are prepared to admit to and talk about. It's a realistic vote for them. It's no longer just that European protest vote. It's a vote they could repeat in the GE.

Murdoch will back the winner. And that won't be Farage.
