It always makes me smile when watching Gogglebox - one of the families has a Rottweiler (I think - they have about 4 large dogs and not sure which one it is) called Dave :D

I like Reginald for a cat - I imagine a stately old tabby (probably completely wrong)

One of my cats has a lovely pedigree name (can't remember what as I can't find the papers!) but she's called Big, because she is!

We always use human names benny, Toby, Lucy, Katie, Mollie, Rosie, Betty Elsie, our cats had human names too willy, susie, Tom, Jerry and Virginia (ginny).

Oddly my husband hated when our oldest cat went walkabout and I would send him out calling for him, I think he got a few looks when he knocked doors and asked if our willy was shut in their sheds :D

He's a tabby but not that old yet - we think he's about 4. We adopted him earlier this year and as far as anyone knows he was a feral kitten who'd been living rough until about a month before we got him. He's a darling but has some very odd ways.

He loves sauces - Chinese or mild curry - and processsed cheese slices like they put in burgers. We've got a theory that a lot of his 'found' food was discarded take-aways.

We had a tortoise called Simon when I was a kid.

My brother and I couldn't agree on a name, so we decided to write names on a piece of paper and draw the winner. My brother and I both had suitable tortoise names and invited my mum to join in. She half-heartedly wrote Simon on her piece of paper for a quiet life and it was the name that was drawn, so Simon it was!

It seems to be the in thing. Our cat's name is Eric, and I know somebody with a Yorkshire terrier called David, and I know another person with a Weimerahner(? sp) called Colin.

Our pets always have human names. Would never have a Snowey, Gizmo or that sort of name. We currently have family pets called , Thomas, Henry, Bob, and Sydney, and rabbits called Gordon and Alice.

The lady I work for has 4 cats, 2 of which are named Steve and Patrick.

Last year I was looking at calendars and found a cat one; the cat for October was named Connor.

At the adoption centre where I got my cat, there were 2 cats together named Carol and Carl and another cat named Megan.

Sometimes people names work for pets, like Max, Sam, Bobbi, Charlie, or Daisy, but most times they seem an odd choice.
