I have a theory about this. It's because they like to have a decent rollover on the prize money, like on Eggheads. The get in the think ones to start off and gradually get better ones as the series progresses. If there is a prize fund of ten thousand pounds, then that might attradct more viewers.

Lol where do they get them from. obviously thrown out of school. Even those kids on smarter than a ten year old could name a country on the med. Dont care much for the second round. Love the show though.
Why do they seem to think it's so bloody funny that they're stupid? Portugal, Bulgaria and Mykonos? I was appalled.

I'd like to think I'm not too thick- so I hope you're not too hard on me!!
Sadly never got passed the audition for this, though saying my partner & I met at an audition for another quiz show many many moons ago probably dident go down to well :eek:

Yeah, it's an official language but Switzerland isn't in the EU.
I'd probably have been reluctant to say Switzerland not because I'd been paying attention to the "EU countries only" stipulation but because I thought that "Schwiizerdütsch", Switzerland's rather unusual spoken dialect of German, wouldn't "count"..
