It always makes me laugh that their show tries to be everything to everybody. They have a serious debate at the start about a topical issue and then the next feature is a comedic one.

Bo'Selecta got those two down to a tee.

I felt quite queasy when his commando status was mentioned.

He's like that annoying, embarrasing uncle nearly everyone has..

I really can't watch him, don't mind her though, dunno if this has been mentioned in this thread, but who can remember their non interview with O J Simpson?

    :D

This thread could run and run if we post our favourite Richard moments, from the past or as they happen.
What a great thread! Can't stand Madeley either.

One cringeworthy interview was with Ringo Starr. You'd think there'd be plenty of interesting stuff to come out in a chat with an ex - Beatle, but Madeley cocked the whole thing up.

At one point he compared Ringo to Frodo Baggins from Tolkien's book, trying to discard of a powerful ring. What a stupid thing to come out with. There was an awkward pause, then Ringo said to Judy: "Can you do the interview please?" :D

Don't know if anyone's mentioned the Bill Clinton interview on here, but when Monica Lewinsky cropped up Madeley said something along the lines of "I know what it's like to be wronged by the press". He put himself on a par with the President of America  :D

The man's a genius!!! Lets face it - TV would be very dull without a real life Alan Partridge :)

The latest horror story is the one about R&J road-testing Viagra, before proclaiming they 'didn't really need it' Their children must be so proud.

One of the funniest quotes that Richard apparently said was to (the admittedly angular-featured) Sophie Ellis-Bextor during an interview, which was: 'Where did you get your face?" - erm, from her parents??! What a stupid thing to say.

I was eating my tea when it was announced that Richard goes commando, that put me off my meat and two veg for the evening. Is nothing private anymore, how does Judy put up with him.

Omg! I just hope they "don't need it" because their sex life is non existent.
I couldn't bear to imagine anything else.

Didn't he then go on for about 4 whole minutes slavering about the whole wine stealing incident?
Seriously, he's got the President in front of him and he wants to talk about poor him getting caught nicking a bottle of booze.

    Talk about self indulgent.

Yes, and looking back through the thread others have mentioned the interview. Dancing Girl quoted him as saying to Clinton: "Of course, in my case I was telling the truth".

Bl**dy rude or what? I remember once on You Say, We Pay, Judy got an answer before him ( I always think that bugs him ). He came out with "my wife the genius". Patronising g*t

Unfortunately, Judy made a further comment afterwards which gave the impression she is, erm, well-satisfied in that department - minus the use of Viagra

Ridiculously, Dick compared the press reaction to the wine stealing debacle to the fall-out following Clinton's affair with Monica Lewinsky - talk about delusions of grandeur!

Today there was some little girl who was a ballroom dancer, and the boy she had always danced with apparently had 'ditched' her to go and dance with someone else. Richard was like "what a RAT!"

...Half an hour later, a sheepish looking Richard announces that the boy's mother had rung up to complain about her son being called a rat on national TV.

The thought of those two at it really makes me want to hurl my cookies. :p

In my experience, the people who go on most about their sex lives aren't getting any at all.

OMG, I cannot believe I missed that! I saw the kiddie ballroom dancers, but I switched over to Neighbours so missed Richard apologising! Only he could make a gaff like that :D

There was an incident when R&J were still on This Morning where they were discussing 70's kids shows and Richard remarked that the person who drew the characters on Rhubarb and Custard must have been on drugs. The following day he had to apologise on air because said animator had complained.

He's been on top form after their winter break. It seems like all the 'partridgisms' have been building up whilst he's been off the telly.

I put ITV on for You Don't know you're born and caught 10 mins of Fortune - A scout troupe were asking for money and Duncan Bannatyne was making the point that it was immoral to have kids on TV begging for money (which is basically all the show is) and his face just sort of expressed "have we sunk this low" cut to Madeley grinning and saying how great it was that the other judges would all chip in anyway !

Ha. Today he asked Emma Bunton if she got turned on by the dances in Strictly Come Dancing. He also pimped his daugher out who tried to sell her idea to 2 of the Dragon's Den panel who were being interviewed.

I haven't read all the posts but years ago didn't Shakin Stevens wrestle him to the ground?! I'm sure a leading actor gave him bitting reply back once!! He thinks he's so smooth sometimes!

Isn't it shameless to canvass or drop strong hints to get invited to take part in Strictly Come Dancing. He already gets plenty of air time.

I have to admit though, I too would love to see him on it.

Richard Madeley on Strictly Come Dancing - I might watch that, actually! :D
