Having played the de Blob series of games on the Wii, I later found out that the soundtracks for the games (which are awesome) were partly performed by an Australian funk/soul band called The Bamboos. Having listened to their own music on YouTube (they've had 4 albums so far and I think their 5th is nearing completion) they're actually great. Some of my favourite songs from them:

OMG! Somebody else actually knows who The Bamboos are! I got into them a few years ago when a song of theirs was on Ugly Betty and I adore them! Kylie Auldist has an amazing voice.
I have no recollection of where I found this song at all but its so beautiful, but no one in my life has heard of it, wonder if its even that much of a hidden gem, it might be quite popular!

This is a cover of a song by a band called Tuxedomoon. It was also covered by Depeche Modes Martin Gore on his Counterfeit e.p from 1988/9

I love Ladyhawke, Santigold, Lissie and Lady Antebellum!
I love this song, the band have a similar sound to Mumford and Sons, but I don't know anyone who's heard of them here; I think they're a bit more popular in the US.
This song from Brazilian singer Michel Teló has become a huge hit across a large part of Europe but quelle surprise, it's been virtually ignored by the British.
I love it though. The chanting from the crowd is what makes it great.
In 1988, a band called 1927 released "That's When I Think of You". It is not only one of my favourite songs no one else has heard of, it is actually one of my favourite songs ever.

I love her. River and Ice are two of my favourite songs of hers, though I'm not sure if those songs are singles or if they're just album tracks.

I'm also a big fan of BWO and Train, neither have had a huge mainstream success over here. "Cab" by Train, especially, is a fantastic record.
