I'm really looking forward to this too. I used to quite enjoy the earlier seasons of Third Watch and I think this may be similar. I don't know if any UK channel has picked it up yet but I'd say it could end up on Universal given that it is a Dick Wolf show and it kind of fits in with the type of series they air. At a push, Sky One might show it or maybe even one of the Five digital channels.
Me too! Saw the advert today & it looks really good.

October 11th for me - Ill be watching US Pace as I do with most of my shows. I gave up traditional TV broadcasts many years ago now - limiting this to just the news
I got 20 minutes into the pilot and stopped watching. It was really disappointing. I'm a big fan of Dick Wolf's other shows but this just didn't feel like a Wolf show. The writing is very cliched, the plotting is predictable and some of the performances aren't great.
The ratings haven't been great and the reviews have been pretty dire so I can't see it lasting too long.

Yes it was a 'by the numbers' drama.
People will have seen it before, so it will just be a matter of if they want to watch it again.

It was very "by the numbers". I was expecting more from a Dick Wolf show. They usually have a bit of an edge to them that makes them stand out from other dramas on TV. At least in their first few years anyway.

Same here. Just sat down to watch this when I was hoping to have a back to back viewing of the first two episodes....massively disappointed. Also stopped watching 20 minutes in. Really had to switch off.
Chicago Fire is very cliched and predictable. I can excuse the soapy elements but the first episode introduced as to whole set of characters and ideas that we have met and seen many times before. You have the agressive female paramedic, the gay female paramedic, the clown firefighter, the drug dependent firefighter, the rookie, the tough guy. Story-wise you have a firefighter losing his life within the first few minutes through lack of judgement and the other feeling all guilty about his death. You have the typical relationship woes and to top it all there's even mention of an upcoming boxing match!
Have been massively disappointed! When I first heard of this I thought it could perhaps fill the void left my Third Watch Ive read online that Episode 2 is much better, and I understand there is only so much a 45 minute pilot can do and show, but the little I saw won't allow me to watch further.

Episode 2 wasn't that much better, it was difficult to be worse than ep1.
The casting isn't very good. All the characters are as you say cliched.
The best bit was the stuff falling from the high rise, but apart from that it was the same old, same old. There was a really bad plotline about a drunken British bloke upsetting people in an Irish bar and then sexually harrassing one of the female paramedics who then put makeup on him.
I'm sure the 'druggie' fireman will be diabetic or something similar.
I doubt this will last long unless it hits a spot with the American's for some reason. I think this will go the way of 'Trauma'.
I watched the entire Third Watch just last year after "acquiring" the complete series via "sources" since there was no DVD release or TV rerun available. Loved it.

Looks like it follows paramedic crews (who just happen to be female) as well as the fire dept.
