Why isn't the show called Britain Wants Variety?

If the prize is a slot at the Royal Variety Show, then why not focus more on variety and entertainment than 'talent'.
Perhaps it would then attract less singers especially of the Sean 'should have gone on the xfactor' Smith and more Stavros Flatleys and Diversitys. Even more Two Grands who whlist not really my cup of tea are good old fashioned family entertainment.
