Can anyone explain this because I'm totally confused as I thought the Leveson inquiry was live

I was a bit surprised when I saw this Charity U-Turn splashed as Breaking News today because I'm sure I heard it yesterday !

Maybe it was leaked yesterday with the official announcement today ?

I don't think so, unless you have sources that the rest of us don't. :) I read in the Telegraph this morning that a Tory donor was up in arms about the tax but no mention that a u turn had happened.

Well, I am unsure..........maybe somebody on TV or radio was speculating that there might be a u-turn in the light of all the other budget u-turns this week

Interesting to hear Jay has got his mojo back this bskyb bid seems to be his specialist subject. Pity he was a bit slipshod with others!

iankatz1000: Hunt says he wishes he had spelled out to Smith need to use more careful language with Michel. (Like "Congratulations on Brussels!" maybe?)

    Touché!

Hunt's claims he was not close to Michel and that he and Smith were somehow unwilling participants in this tide of communications doesn't quite tie up with Hunt's text to Michel:

"Hopefully when consultation over we can have coffee like the old days."

They said in a tweet that they were having problems with it. I seem to remember it has happened before.

"sucked in to making inappropriate comments "

why did he keep replying? why did Hunt text James about his promotion - that wasn't a response.

Also if he is having inappropriate contact with JM it's not surprising then that his spad was also.

    Imagine this scenario:

    Hunt approved the bid.

Anti bid coalition seek judicial review

    All this stuff comes out.

Standard of proof for judge to over turn a ministerial decision is either wrong process or "appearance of bias"

How do you think a judge would have decided?

Is Jay making Jeremy 'erm, I can't remember' Hunt look a fool, or is Hunt managing to do it all by himself?
