I was a bit surprised when I saw this Charity U-Turn splashed as Breaking News today because I'm sure I heard it yesterday !
Maybe it was leaked yesterday with the official announcement today ?
I don't think so, unless you have sources that the rest of us don't. I read in the Telegraph this morning that a Tory donor was up in arms about the tax but no mention that a u turn had happened.

Well, I am unsure..........maybe somebody on TV or radio was speculating that there might be a u-turn in the light of all the other budget u-turns this week

Hunt's claims he was not close to Michel and that he and Smith were somehow unwilling participants in this tide of communications doesn't quite tie up with Hunt's text to Michel:
