Can anyone recommend a hotel or B&B near St John's Wood in London?

Hi unfortunately I'm going to have to fly down to London for specialist treatment soon. The hospital is in St John's Wood in London and my dad will need somewhere to stay whilst I am in hospital.

Can anyone recommend a hotel or B&B that is reasonably priced in St John's Wood? My dad hates pubs so he wont stay in one.

I've never been to London before so I haven't got a clue about hotels. Any replies would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for your reply Sky_Guy. My dad doesn't like pubs so he wouldn't like it but thanks for posting.

    Thanks Po-ta-to.

There are a couple more in the vicinity but they look quite pricey, and I wasn't sure of the budget.

Hope your treatment goes well. :)

Thank you I appreciate it. Sorry should have put up a budget probably up to £150 a night.

In which case, here's another one not too far away with pretty good reviews: Danubius

From the look of it, both the Danubius and New Carlton are about 0.5km from the hospital.

This one is a bit further away: Marriott Regents Park

And another a little further still (though it sounds a bit old fashioned): Best Western Swiss Cottage

Google maps is suggesting they're all within the price range but I guess it will depend on the night(s) your dad is staying.

No specific recommendations, but you might want to look a few tube stops away from the hospital. For example there's a Premier Inn in Wembley, which is only 10 minutes on the tube to St John’s Wood.

Marriott Regents Park gets my vote, I know it quite well: one particular advantage is that it's much quieter than some of the other options, as it's on King Henry's Rd (residential) rather than Maida Vale (major trunk route). If you're up to getting some fresh air, the view down the road, from Primrose Hill, is one of the best in London.

Despite being from London originally, no useful info sadly

Wanted to reply anyways to say 'finger's crossed' for the treatment, and hope that it goes well for you.

    :)

And if your Dad's interested, the legendary Abbey Rd studios (and the Beatles' zebra crossing) is very near the St Johns Wood hospitals.

Thanks I appreciate it unfortunately if it doesn't work I'm out of options. I've already had two operations last year for it and they unfortunately didn't work. The pain is like getting constantly stabbed with a steak knife every waking moment on top of my back, leg and feet pain I normally have.

Thanks for letting me know this he is a Beatles fan I'll suggest he goes to see it to get a break from my hospital room. Unfortunately neither of us will be seeing much of London this time round which is a shame. Hopefully I will go up the shard, go on the London eye and see Buckingham Palace one day they are on my bucket list.

Have you spoken to the hospital to see if there's anywhere they recommend? They must have a patient liaison team and I'm guessing people come there from all over the UK for treatment so they might be able to help?
