Is anyone else absolutely bored stiff with the seeming endless coverage of the Pistorius trial on Sky News? I think they have vastly over-estimated the interest in the story, merely because they can get live pictures from inside the court room.
Perhaps the excess coverage is a taste of what we will get when cameras are allowed in British courts.

And the only reason the BBC cut out of it was because the court was having a coffee break!
It's bloody madness!
I refer to that of the former deputy speaker of the House of Commons, Nigel Evans. If he is convicted he will almost certainly be jailed which will mean he will have to resign his seat and this will cause a by-election in his constituency.
The Pistorius trial is cheap TV for Sky and for the BBC news channel.
I'll have the trial please, don't care about someone who has thrown her life away.
Sky were once (IMO) the best TV station for news, now they just do not measure up to what I want from a news channel.
Sky go overboard all the time with certain events.
Third alternative: Wall to wall NOTHING! How about a news channel doing a round up of ALL the news on the hour and every half hour? I know! Crazy isn't it? /sarcasm.
When the headlines on the hour don't happen because some foreigner not shown on screen is reading out text messages, which he had been for over an hour, something very very wrong with the set up and with people who can't get their heads around it being wrong.
Yes but the BBC are doing exactly the same!
The Nigel Evans trail however isn't as newsworthy on a 24hour rolling News station though as they can't broadcast it live. They have to wait for breaks in the court to allow them to have their reporter file the Report.
They have to go with the story that gives them the best chance of reporting something new and breaking rather than relying on stories that happened 10hours ago so its just reporting the same thing over and over again or which there won't be anything new to report until the next break in court
And even if it was on TV, it's far less interesting than the Pistorius trial, which I would imagine people around the world are following. The Beeb website is giving almost minute by minute updates at the moment. Of the trial of an internationally famous Paralympic and Olympic athlete accused of the murder of his model girlfriend. People are interested - what a shocker.
I think "thrown her life away" is a little unfair until more details are known about what happened but otherwise I have little interest in either story.
Dirt-cheap TV.
I don't see why it is cheaper as the still have all there main studio lit up and all the usual staff and news readers there. They are just sitting on their arses and getting paid for it.
he will deny it, he will get accused.. and in months the jury will make a decision.
just filler and going around in circles repeating.
There is no jury.
Because during yesterday's evidence a picture of Reeva's bloodied and damaged head was shown without warning, pre-watershed. So they're introducing the delay to stop that from happening again; though I find it annoying as I don't know why people who would be affected by such images - possibly young children - would be watching a trial anyway, if we're going to be shown the whole trial with wall-to-wall coverage, I feel we should also see the evidence.
Yeah, it is. It really is.....
Well I find it very interesting, far more interesting than most other news. For instance mother walking down the steps of an aircraft, carrying a baby.
BBC could dump the trial on the BBC Red Button or BBC Parliament as well as the BBC News website.
I guess it must be pulling in a lot of viewers since they seem to be keeping with it. I for one find it a lot more interesting since this trial, which will only last a couple of weeks anyway, brings into light how a judicial system works; it's also interesting because Pistorius is actually famous and someone well known. It really does, for me, make gripping viewing and is genuinely interesting.
