Why is Cameron having to defend his use of the term "Muppets"?

Surely him being called a fraudulent criminal and a rapist is much worse? Quite possibly the worst person to exist since Hitler, destroyed lives on a personal and global scale (that's Belfort, not Cameron).

I wish politicians would actually research the media they quote, it was bad enough when they kept going on about the arctic monkeys.

    Because Kermit is offended.
Also it's racist because he is green.

It could be taken as an insult
As the `Muppets` are far more intelligent than Ed Milliband & Ed Balls.

I suspect the Muppets have a greater understanding of economics than Balls and Miliband.

I'm lost.. who's calling who a criminal and rapist?

As for Cameron.. it's unparliamentary language from a Prime Minister. If he can't make his point without resorting to calling people names then I'm not sure what point he has. And the thing is all it does is allow Labour to paint the picture of a bully boy from the bullingdon club. It makes him look grubby. And I can't quite imagine his heroine Thatcher ever needing to resort to calling people names across the dispatch box. She was far too good at winning an argument to need to do that.

When anyone calls people silly names or only when Cameron does it?
Gideon will be puffing his chest with pride; all that money saved to enable more tax breaks for his wealthy chums.

(Psst, nobody mention that Cameron did this minutes after being called a "dunce" by Milliband.

Milliband is always the righteous victim. It is known)

Cameron forgot the old adage about never arguing with an idiot as they will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience , he shouldn't have bitten even it was funny

Technically, no one, but Miliband implied that it's what he should have been, the wolf of wall street.

OK mate, what are your views on Milliband calling Cameron the Dunce of Downing Street which is also unparliamentary language and happened first.

Perhaps you hold Cameron to a higher standard because you know Milliband is a lost cause. Just a thought .................

Muppets is a trademark - he could be sued

And from my extensive knowledge of Mupperty, they have several times fought against Evil Businessmen and won.

Does Dave really want a thrashing from Fozzy Bear?

I think that's a fair comment about Milliband and Balls. To be honest Muppet is allot nicer than what I've been calling Balls since 2010 which is Monkey in a Suit or Gorilla Boy

I don't know what all the fuss is about. The term "muppet" has been used on several occasions before in H of C debates and this is the third time that Cameron himself has used it. The previous time was also to Miliband and the time before that to Gordon Brown.

The real question is why has he only used it three times.

    Cameron needs to grow up.

If he behaved like that on here he'd be banned.

You're not very objective are you.

What if one of the two Eds used that term? Is that different?

How does that make it okay?

You're not very objective are you, you're just desperately making excuses for his poor behavior, irrespective of how he's behaved.

Indeed - like most chavs Dave has a limited vocabulary. Perhaps it's one he finds hard to remember

Thinking about it Milliband could be a muppet , it would explain those hand gestures Balls keeps making during PMQs , he is the one operating Milliband :D
