Hi all,
I have a 2 1/2yr old scottie who sometimes cant seem to catch his breath, it only happens now and again and only lasts for a minute or so.
he will take short, sharp intakes for no apparent reason, then he is fine again.
I wondered if anyone has ever seen this before?
any replies would be appreciated

Book him in next week for a check up.
It can be a bit of a catch 22 for a few moments as they breath in more sharply as they can't get their breath easily, that keeps it stuck so they can't get their breath so they try to breath in more....
If that's what it is it's not of much consequence, albeit a bit discomforting for him for a short while, sometimes distracting them to give the palete a chance to drop back down helps, but have him checked in case it's something else.
No choking or grunting, just short, sharp inhaling.
It's similar to when a child has been sobbing and they forget to breathe, if you know what I mean
As I said before, it only happens now and again and never lasts long, I'm hoping it is only reverse sneezing but I will get him checked today.
seems as though you were spot on!:)
vet said the same, nothing but reverse sneezing.
Thanks for all your input.
