Laptop not connecting to wireless network

Hi, I have a laptop which is unable to find any wireless routers to connect to. I can connect to the router from other devices.
Where do I go to fix it?

Is there a switch you have to manually flip to enable the wifi?
Have you got the drivers for your wireless installed?
