Out of interest why can nobody discuss the M*****s?

I had a look in the rules because I thought discussion on it was banned but I couldn't find anything about it.

Is there some sort of legal thing?

Under English libel law the burden of proof lies with the person making the accusations, and as such almost all previous threads on THAT topic have contained comments that are libelous under English law.

English libel law is tougher than many other countries, note the South Park episode 'Trapped in the Closet' that ends with people shouting "We'll sue you in England!"

They're the type of subjects which just go around in circles and cause so many arguments on here :p

is it the subjects or the posters that are the problem?

in which case, isn't it sometimes better to thrash things out and then [hopefully] calm down?

Accusations are indeed libellous Henry ;)

They cannot be made and the internet is now more accountable, I would suggest that it will in the future become moreso.

The Mods have a hard job in my opinion, they have to consider what could get them into hot water, it is not a free rein, it is a difficult one.

I would not like to be in charge of such

It's also why I don't post as much. Debate is often stifled.

Au contraire... you can say what you like about gypsies it seems... as long as you have any sort of anecdotal story to hang your comments on it's open season.

Never say you think children being raped and murdered is wrong, apparently it makes you bigoted and part of a mob mentality:rolleyes:
