No, no, no. I can't take anymore of the ghastly Eesh who had an even more ghastly mate today.

I've come up with an idea and that is to dump the awful characters from both Doctors and Holby into one soap which will be about a private medical facility somewhere unpleasant. It will be aired at 0200 hrs and not be available on iPlayer.
Into this 'pot' will go Eesh, Tembe, the Effangas, Naïve and the Gurner. Much will centre on the bitter arguments between Tembe and Adele as they vie for the leadership role.

The only good thing today was Zara's magnificent bawling-out of the hapless Barry.

That was an absolute gem. I haven't seen Doctors for a while , why did Barry lose his job

Did anybody not see that coming today? Only surprise was the PA wasn't in on it.

Not only is Eeesh an awful character but her storylines are bad as well. The character is totally implausible. For example nurses today are degree educated. Practice Nurses are highly trained and quite well paid. Pah, the BBC have the lost plot with this.

The Beeb haven't done their research - or they assumed that nobody else would bother to find out just how well nurses are paid and we'd all feel sorry for her and her 'paltry' salary, which is anywhere between £25,783 and £34,530. I wouldn't mind that sort of income ourselves for five people!

The BBC assumes that everyone lives in London, and therefore you cannot survive on a nurses pay in the capital. ( Although this is Birmingham )

A classic example today . They were talking about the budget on 5 Live about the cut in duties on beer, and the economics expert said " When you pay £4 a pint what difference does it make to take two p off that "

Sorry mate , outside your cosy London, Islington groupie elite , no one pays any thing like £4 a pint. I had two pints today at £2.90, and the pub round the corner charges at most £ 2.50

If she was working in London then she'd get an extra percentage on top of that due to the higher cost of living, so it would be an extra 20% for inner London, 15% outer London and 5% for the fringe areas.

I don't drink, but it's about £3.50 a pint here (Isle of Man)

I noticed yesterday that toddler Jenny (who said nothing - unsurprisingly!) was given a credit on the cast, but bride Sam (who said about two words), wasn't.

    Why should that be?

I imagine that she asked for her name not to be listed on the credits as it could affect other work she has signed up for or looking for. I can't believe it is an oversight.

I thought the man in today's story was the same actor who played Julia's son. They look very similar.

Didn't seem to make sense today - if the shy antique dealer could turn on the cockney charm and had a credit card, why didn't he just use that to impress the blonde girl, rather than bothering with identity fraud he was unlikely to get away with? Rob' s new sidekick WPC was a nice addition.

Jenny was the mother of the toddler.

Just had another look Indie and Zara says to the mum "what happens when you put Jenny to bed"?

When the cast goes up there is an Andrea Bryce, who I presume to be the mum, and then a Jenny (no surname), clearly though the daughter.

    But no Sam!

I do wish the Beeb would do their research properly. Al being shifty about watching a total eclipse ALL MORNING. When he showed everybody the 'live' coverage of it over the Faroe Islands, the clock behind him showed it was 2.10pm. The eclipse in the Faroes had been total at 9.41 am. However Letherbridge itself would have been very dark a few minutes before then as it was about 90% in that part of the country. Nobody else in the programme appeared to have even a scintilla of knowledge about it which is utter nonsense.

It wouldn't have take a researcher long to phone the Royal Astronomical Society to find out the details of the eclipse in that area. Sloppy research on their part.

I know it might be a minor quibble, but if it's going to be mentioned then make it realistic.

I can tell you in the Midlands it wasn't dark at the time of the eclipse at all.

Re Ayesha having money troubles, like I've said before, people do have debts and do build them up recklessly at various times in their lives but especially when they are young.

She's not the only one to have had money troubles, Jas did when she first appeared, Daniel built as massive debts and while that might have been through gambling, Ayesha may have student debts lingering on may have built up debts on things like store cards, partying too much.

Doctors does like to drag some storylines out and just like most new characters, they often have an objectionable side to them.

Where I do agree about Ayesha is the actresses acting. Sometimes it is way below par but it tends to be on her facial expression/reaction shots when someone is giving her some verbal back and I'm not sure why the actress has trouble doing those expressions as I find the reast of her acting to be alright.

Last two days were gorgeous here, but today was cloudy until about 10.45 - just about when it all finished! I did see about 10 seconds of it when the clouds thinned slightly. It didn't get dark here either, it was more like the type of light you get when the clouds come over and it's about to rain. However it's unrealistic to think that nobody else would have known anything about it, and the time Al was looking at it was too late.

Anyway I'm probably being too pedantic about it :D (but a bit of effort on the part of the Beeb wouldn't have gone amiss)

I agree she could have been reckless in the past and run up debts, but that's her fault so she shouldn't keep bleating on about it. She'll be earning good money so can hardly moan about that. Plenty of families have to manage on less.

Her whingey, whiney voice grates too so that doesn't help.

Al and Niamh are so suited - they were both getting quite animated about the eclipse, they have so many similar interests and he's so much better when he's with her. I do hope they get back together.

The woman who plays Heather is related to the Queen - her father has some kind of French aristocratic title and is a 2nd cousin three times removed (or something )

I haven't heard her moan about her debts and or money troubles for some time now.

I'm still behind the episodes but have watched about 5 episodes in the last few days and have about another 4 or 5 to watch. I thought it was well funny when Ayesha asked Al back to hers and I don't blame him for thinking what he did because she does seem pretty easy and not very fussy in that department.

That episode with the Hollins at the Zoo was pretty funny in general, think it was a Claire Bennett (written) one, good to see her back as I haven't seen her name on the credits for some time. That WPC 56 programme afterwards has James Larkin (Harrison) listed as the director and I saw one of the Doctors script writers come up on the credits too in Ray Brtooking.

    Poppy Conroy:
For those who enjoyed watching the actress who played Poppy Conroy last year she was employed by the same production company who make Doctors and Father Brown to play the lead role in the third series of WPC 56 (aired a few weeks ago) replacing Jenny Jaques.

I knew the actress playing the new WPC looked familiar but didn't realize who Claudia Jessie was until the last episode. Worth a watch on I player if you like that series.

I didn't enjoy her really in any way. Its because of the character she played that the very good character Kevin left Doctors and we still don't know why the actor that played kevin left!

I'm almost fully up to date with the episodes now. Re that episode where Emma decided to have a pajama "party", what is it about women and them holding those uber cringe worthy pajama parties?! I really do get the feeling there is some kind of repressed sexual angle to these parties and if people think I'm way off, then what would people say and think if a bunch of men done such a thing or had a boxer shorts party?!

That episode about the twin brothers was a good one. I thought the twist was heading towards the secretary and the business half of the twin in cahoots to kill the other twin and I think that would have been the better twist. The bit about when she was on the phone to a client for about 10 minutes could have been the business half of the twins pretending to be the client etc.

On Jimmi/Heather, yes Jimmi should have goton round to telling her that he had previously been married and if he wasn't so infatuated with this Heather he probably would have done, but she was just as much to blame for leaving her own boyfiend so suddenly and moving in with Jimmi so fast.

I hope she hasn't got some pent up issues that affect her behaviour in a neurotic way as I'm quite frankly fed up with the amount of people that have some kind of personality disorder about them in Doctors. There have been too many in various ways in Doctors over the years and to have some normal relationships would be nice for a while. Let them build up other stories that don't involve affairs and or personal problems so much. It can be done.

Styker, pj parties are good because you don't have to dress up. Most girls even with just meeting up with friends will worry about what to wear, how they look etc. a pj party takes all that pressure away. No more than that. Men don't care about that stuff generally so they have no need of boxers party. In tv terms the male eqivalant would be "watching the match with a few beers".

I think he just wanted to move on to different things and get more experience and exposure.

I've never been to one so I don't understand them either. Mind you I'm not a party and socialising person anyway. When Heather was told they were having a girly night in, I thought she was a bit pathetic - "ooooh lovely. Can I bring my boyfriend?". Which part of 'girly night in' doesn't she understand?

I thought that was good. I like the way they do the flashbacks and show them from a different person's perspective - the actors have to play the scene in a different way each time.

He hadn't really had time to tell her anything about himself. It's ridiculous that they've just met and he wants them to move in together.

Is anybody 'normal' though? Have you ever seen any of the Winnie the Pooh films - every character except Kanga and Roo has some kind of 'personality disorder'. Tigger has ADHD, Rabbit has OCD, Piglet has an inferiority complex, Owl has a superiority complex, Pooh has an eating disorder, Eeyore has clinical depression. Even Christopher Robin has a problem - he thinks his toys talk to him! :D
