  I don't mind him as a character but he isn't the best actor of those listed amongst the newcomers. I guess acting isn't required for this award. Was this the one David Witts won last year?

  David Witts also won Best Newcomer. But we all know about his acting. Doesn't really mean anything. The awards, like all soap awards, are a sham. I still think the way Khali Best plays the character of Dexter is thoroughly poor and annoying. Tonight hasn't changed my opinion just like my opinion didn't change about David Witts.
  
  I imagine Khali Best is quite popular amongst the social networking crowd much like David Witts was. Best Newcomer is more a popularity contest than an acting award.
