Comfortable shoes for going out ? Do they exist ?

Hi all ,
I am not a girl who wears very high heels but on the weekend when I go out I would like to wear shoes that don't feel like they are breaking my feet into small pieces !
I am not looking for high high heels just something small to medium that can last a night of fun

Has anyone found shoes that are comfy and stylish ? Or am I hunting the holy grail ?:D

I have the same problem because I have very high arches and high heels just cripple me. I wear ballet pumps and skinny jeans now. It's the best I can do. The only other alternative I can suggest are Clarkes high heeled boots which have a very comfy insole.
The way I see it is that no one really notices your feet when you are out, but they do notice if you are hobbling around like an old woman.

I will take a look in Clarkes ,I have got to the stage where if I can get away with flats I do as like you say no one really looks at your feet . My concern is due to people being drunk they tend to spill drinks on floors so all my flats get ruined

I love high heels but tore the ligaments in my foot years ago and my foot has never been the same. Walking in high heels(or even flats) for a long time ends up being really painful for me and I used to be able to wear them all day and night and would walk to work in them. I also have slightly flat feet which doesn't help.

My partner bought me a pair of boots from Zara for my birthday last year, he chose them and they are great (I was very impressed with his taste as well!) Even though they are high they are extremely comfortable. I think to be honest it's a bit of trial and error with shoes. Some shoes look really comfortable but end up killing me others look like they would be really painful to wear but are actually really comfortable.

Doc Martens! Comfy, sylish, lots of different colours and designs.

Also very useful for kicking people who spill drinks on you in pubs

A couple of my lady friends wear heels, but they always have a pair of flat shoes (ones made of material that you can fold up) stashed in their bags for travelling "between pubs" I think its a great idea.

Those kind of ones. I would recommend carrying a pair with you which are smart for such occasions.

I feel your pain, I am exactly the same.

The best solution I have found is salsa shoes (ballroom shoes)
however, they have a suede sole so not ideal for walking in streets so I take a pair of sparky pumps in my bag - job done!
The generally come in different heel sizes so you dont have to have really high.

I have flat feet so high heels are a no-no for me. Clarks occasionally have some lovely evening shoes. The Debut range at Debenhams usually have lots of mid-height heels, although they do tend to be in colours which co-ordinate with their formal and wedding range.
It is possible to find gorgeous shoes which don't kill your feet - but I think you have to be willing to shop, shop, shop! My favourite pair are black patent Jasper Conran shoes I bought years and years ago. Underneath trousers they look exactly like stilettoes, but have 2 1/2 inch heels I can wear all night. I've also found zebra print mary janes from Marks and Spencer and a pair of slingbacks from Moda in Pelle which had two and a half inch heels.
It's a shame no one has cottoned on and designed a range of seriously gorgeous shoes which aren't cripplingly high. I don't know anyone who actually likes wearing high heels. I was at a wedding last weekend and by 10pm my friends had all taken off their very high heels and were walking around the hall barefoot, moaning that they were on fire. I wore mid-heels and kept my shoes on all night!

Rockport are very comfy shoes. They do different heel heights and even the (for me) super high ones have some sort of trainer technology inside. They use good quality leather and suede too. They make nice ballet flats as well as heels. Shop around as there are often bargains on Amazon, eBay and Brandalley.

I second the ballroom/latin dance shoes idea. They're usually ridiculously comfortable. Yes, they have indoor soles, but a cobbler will easily stick a thin rubber sole on for a couple of quid, so you can also wear them outside.

I have a very comfortable of mid heel clarks sling-backs in patent which are really comfy for dancing in, although have to watch if the floor is slippy.

I wear black wedge boots whenever I got out. Very comfortable, easy to walk in, but still look good for going out in.

Just buy some ankle boots with cuban heels. They are even comfier than flat shoes.

Marks and Spencer have an amazing copy of the Isabel Marant ones.

If I want a heel, I find platform shoes are very comfy for some reason. Especially ones with a chunkier heel. A few examples here.

I agree with the poster who liked Rockport shoes. I have several pairs of their boots and shoes with both high and low heels and they are all comfortable. They are also very good quality and last looking good for yearss.

Another make I would recommend is Fly London, which sells on Amazon and they are brilliant. I have one pair of their shoes in every colour and wear them non-stop all summer. They are a slingback with a chunky heel. The Yakin. In my opinion, the perfect everyday shoe for the summer and they give you height.

Finally I would recommend a fairly small UK brand called Moshulu. They have their own website and you can buy them on ebay - there is a someone who just sells their shoes. This make uses good quality leather and has some very cute designs - some are a bit frumpy however.
