There's no way Spotify is going to be able to stay free. At some point it will have to start charging people as well. Music rights and royalties are just too expensive, even with advertisers supporting.
I think the slickness of Apple Music and how it will automatically integrated into OS 9 might give Apple a leg up.
This reminds me of the very old days when all computer interfaces used DOS with a blinking cursor, and then Apple came along with a user friendly interface and bye bye IBM. Spotify being the modern IBM.
By doing so Apple invented a legion of customers who would pay lots of money for sleek styling.

Well not immediately, users actually bought Windows in far greater numbers. Windows came to the market much later, was initially just a interface that overlaid DOS, couldn't cope with long file names until 1995, introduced the legendary blue screen of death...but everyone used it because it ran on cheaper computers and it was Microsoft. The modern world really changed with the iMac and the iPhone. And to be fair the way we consume music changed with the introduction of possibly the best piece of software ever engineered....iTunes.
The Windows interface was a much clunkier version of the one Wozniak and Jobs came up with. They offered it to IBM.
But you're right, everybody used Microsoft and Apple was pretty niche, until Apple figured out there was more money to be had in consumer products than hardware.
Heh I still remember the first Apple computers pre Macintosh. 8 MB hard drives!

LOL. But their spacing is a reoccurring problem. Forgetting choreography is (hopefully) a one off thing.
Oh and Iggy Azalea is really past her expiry date.

I'm really vibing on the app. Very slick and well integrated. Some really diverse music choices. Lovin' Beats1. Very eclectic mix of music.
Apple has clearly done its research. I think Spotify could have some serious competition on its hands...

Might be the XM station, The Pulse. They play songs from the 2000s through to today. Definitely a station geared toward the 21-25+ crowd.
