Hi Dilly, thanks for popping in. It sounds like she's determined to dance, but I hope that's not the wrong decision for her long term health!

She'll hopefully listen to the doctor's advice on what she should do. I hope for everyone's sake that she is fine to go ahead. We haven't seen near enough of the magic that her and Artem can create... The show would definitely be lacking without them now.

Just Heard about Natalie's Injury fingers crossed she will be ok to dance ,it would be a poorer show without her.
I hope she doesn't push herself too hard to dance this week and then end up having to pull out because she has injured it further.

Lovely to read so many people wishing her well :)

Oh, dear. Some of the ignorant, nasty trolls who comment in the DM take my breath away :(. Good to see some decent people there too.

    Sounding more hopeful. Fingers crossed.

I'm sure having had a back injury himself Artem will know how to adapt the choreo and training to help her.

(but then he's injured everything, hasn't he? Bit of an expert is our Art. :o)

I love the quickstep, one of my favourite dances, but never at the risk of a bad injury. Back problems can vary so much but jeez they can be damn ruddy painful :(

Trusting Nat gets good treatment and advice.

    BIB - nothing like

The online DM troll is always best avoided, not sure which way round it is does the DM feed the troll, or the troll feed the DM ????

If there's anyone who can deal with injury-porn moments ahoy it's Arty.

Yes it is lovely to see. I bet the knives will come out should she decide to dance and dance well on Saturday night though! She'll be accused of putting it on or faking it I bet.

Thanks KA. Their training looks amazing. I don't want her to dance if it's the wrong thing to do, but I'd also LOVE to see that quickstep on Saturday! :o

Is there a troll factory somewhere? Where on earth do these people come from?

Was this the unreality tv article, Wren? For some reason, links just won't work for them

Thank you for Natalie's tweets :).

I'm ridiculously excited to see their QS, but also got nervous butterflies about her decision. I just hope she's doing the right thing and not letting emotion get the better of her....but she seems like a smart woman. Everything crossed for her :).

On a side note, I'm glad she's saying this now, because I feel sure production would have loved to keep a 'will they, won't they?' storyline going, which would just have been grist to the cynics' mill.

    Morning Soupy (just) :)

    Yes, here it is hopefully:

Natalie Gumede has confirmed that she will be performing on Strictly Come Dancing this weekend, despite injuring her back in rehearsals.

The former Coronation Street star sought medical help after the incident and following an MRI scan and a consultation with a specialist she learned that she had not slipped a disc.

However, Natalie has needed a series of steroid injections to help with the inflammation and pain and she thinks that after a bit of rest and relaxation she will be able to perform on Saturday night as planned.

It was originally feared that Natalie would be forced to pull out of the competition, or at least this weekend’s show, however after she was diagnosed with a “compressed disc”, coupled with sciatica, a show spokeswoman told The Mirror:
“She has had physio this morning and she is about to have steroid injections to ease the pain.

“She will not train today but is determined to dance on Saturday night.”

Gumede has already become a front runner in the competition and last weekend won not just the judges’ praise but a high score of 36 from the panel, after an amazing rumba with professional partner Artem.

This weekend she and Chigvintsev will be performing a Quickstep to Yeah by Usher, as long as Natalie is well enough to dance.
