If you think that is going back, I remember these two from sixty years ago:

The Appleyards and The Grove Family, from when we just had one TV channel.

The Newcomers - 1965 - 1969 - all BBC, and all superior to the dire Eastenders.

I've heard of all of them but too young to have seen them.

First episode of Eastenders I watched was I think a storyline involving Sanjay and Gita that involved Gita possibly having an affair and Cindy Beale helping/consoling her. If anyone can remember this storyline, do fill in tbe blanks!

I can just remember the Crossroads Motel fire, and Meg leaving on the QE2. I can also just remember Annie Walker and Elsie Tanner in Corrie, and remember Elsie's departure. My Mum also used to watch Emmerdale Farm, and nothing ever seemed to happen, the Sugdens were always sitting in the kitchen, and Annie was wearing her pinny.

Also The Sullivans at lunchtimes, and Sister Scott and Dr Snape walking the corridors of the Albert Memorial in early episodes of Young Doctors.

Only started watching soaps when I was a teen (parents are not soap watchers), I guess it's Grant's affair with Tiffany's mum

Eastenders - when Grant hit Tiffany with the car, that was the first episode I watched.

Corrie was when Gail found out Sarah was pregnant.

Neighbours when there was the plane crash.

I don't remember the first episode I watched of Emmerdale.

Remember the big disaster early on........was it a train crashed over the viaduct and landed on the Mission Hall........something like that
It has a habit of doing that!

I am assuming the early train crash didn't include a comedy shot of the train driver going :o as he launched at a young mum's head?

I remember being really peeved at my programmes finishing and crossroads being on. I also remember eastenders starting as it seemed to be a big deal in our house As my grandad was from the eastend i loved ian and Michelle but took a dislike to Sharon which continues to this day lol

EE - The one that's always stuck out to me was when Steve hits that girl with and ashtray and kills her in the club.

My first corrie memory is something about the shopping place getting burgled and residents were taken hostage.
