Rod Stewart headlined Sunday night in 2002.

He did, so I think 12+ years on he'd suit an appearance in the Legends slot.

Maybe not for the legends but would like to see Rodriguez, loved his documentary.

I agree with Moody Blues. Mum was a huge fan.

Gladys Knight is still going, someone from Motown??? Or a celebration of Motown with a few living legends on stage??

Their is lots of people I could think of.

I'm not sure he'd appreciate the demotion.

Quite. I see the "legend" slot as featuring artists who, in the earlier years of festivals, we would never have imagined playing at Glastonbury.

I didn't realise 'legend' was a lesser term than 'headliner'. My apologies to Rod.

Madonna is the biggest touring solo act ever and still releases records on a relatively regular basis. She would be a headliner or nothing.

I reckon Fleetwood Mac and Pink Floyd would probably be headliners too.

Van Morisson regularly played Glastonbury in the eighties before the hipsters took over.

Has Marilyn Manson ever played Glastonbury? Could be a good headliner.

where do you get the stats for this? i'm sure the correct answer is paul macartney, who also releases records on a regular basis and has done for over 50 years. he plays absolutely ridiculous size gigs at times

There's no "probably" about that. In fact I think there's a good chance Fleetwood Mac will be one of next year's headliners.

Not really she would be a major headline act, like most of the acts mentioned in this thread so far.

She wouldn't. Her music is not what the Glastonbury headline slot is about- she fits the legend slot perfectly.

Elton John is another likely contender.
