SHOCK RETURN TO WATERLOO ROAD FOR RUBY FRY
It has today(9 February) been confirmed that former Waterloo Road actress Elizabeth Berrington will make a shock comeback to the show.
Her character, Food Technology teacher Ruby Fry left the school after her debut novel was accepted by publishers. Ruby will make a one-off return to the school in unclear circumstances.
Berrington said of her return "When the producers asked me to return, I couldn't say no. The chance to get back into Ruby's shoes was too good an opportunity to miss! Viewers will find out something has happened with Ruby and she desperately needs to see her old friends, but can they help her?"
In other news, former EastEnders star Johnny Partridge has joined the cast of the hit BBC show as new Head of Drama and Music Zack Smith. Partridge described his character as "full of life and energy and not adverse to having full blown rows with his colleagues if it means getting what he wants!" Openly gay Zack will make his debut in episode 21, along with new Science teach Esther Fairclough, played by Daniela Nardini.
