it adds weight to any discussion in Parliament particularly with the pressure on the tories from ukip and their own backbenchers.

It adds no weight whatsoever. There are 500 times more people not supporting the e-petition. It qualifies for one thing only, the right to be reviewed for discussion. If it's already scheduled to be discussed, it become irrelevant.
If you look at the site the petition is the fourth highest overall and the only ones above it have been going for many more months longer and if you look at the ones below they have also been going for months longer and are significantly below this petition. If you look at the trending petitions it has been number 1 all day everyday for about the past month and is again today[/B]

Not what you said. You implied this was one of the quickest to get this high. I'm comparing it to all others, not just the current ones, that got that high - how does this rank with those?

In this article up to summer 2012, only ten petitions had reached 100,000. All except one were debate in Parliament

Here are the figures of what the petitions got after one year

Convicted London rioters should lose all benefits (258,261 signatures)
Drop the Health Bill (179,434 signatures)
Full disclosure of Hillsborough documents (156,202 signatures)
Return VAT on Air Ambulance fuel payments (150,885 signatures)
Put Babar Ahmad on trial in the UK (149,433 signatures)

This petition has 71,000 in 3 and a half months and the pension petition passed 100,000 two days ago after 11 months so whatever you say it is going fast

None of which proves that it was "was one of the quickest to get this high".

106 posts (to date) on one thread is getting a little obsessive, perhaps?

even more of a disgrace the EU has told Britain it cannot even stop immigrants claiming for benefits with children who do not even live in the UK!!!!!! therefore one parent from Romania could come here and claim full child benefit for 7-8 children

    that isn't right
