You router isnt on the way out that is the way it is supposed to work, the idea of UPnP is it closes the ports back up once they are no longer needed, it is blops that ****ed, it is either reporting the nat status very wrong or it isnt requesting the ports it needs.

FWIW i do not have the fastest connection on the planet at 3.6Mbps but according to blops my bandwidth is 147kbps

Having a 3.6mb connection doesn't mean you get 3.6mb downstream constantly.

I looked at my statistics earlier & I get a 568kps or whatever it is on a 2.7 meg connection. I was host earlier & played for roughly 2 hours straight without any problems at all :D

Also noticed in the options menu, there's a new option to load multiplayer straight away, rather than having to press down to multiplayer, how lazy must some people be?!?!?! (I chose that option :o)

Since you posted that my little trick doesn't work now. I've been sat for an hour and even though the PS3 realises I'm NAT type 2 and UPnP available I've been stuck on moderate. Can't get a game for love nor money ! I'm on a 17Mb connection and BOps reports 10.

The only game I did start I was 9 - 0 and then hit marker after hit marker. It's like the game realises you're doing well and penalises you a bit.

I don't want to go back to MW2 but...

I'm tempted to do it myself and keep the gift card til LBP2 comes out BUT I fear a new patch will come out and once and for all fix it and make me want the game again.

thanks for the heads up on the deal gilly! as i say i hate it so much for the trouble ive had i have no interest in playing it again.

they way i look at it is i got back what i paid for it, so if i did (i wont) buy it again its no different to just buying it as im not out of pocket.

as for waiting for the patch, you hoping for a xmas miracle :p:)

The past few days have been good online, the best it's been since launch. I'm keeping a gold if this just now but won't be buying the maps

Agree. Defo improved over last few days. Though there have been disconnections they seem to be fewer now.

Given the minimum practical speeds for online gaming has always been 512kbps down and 256kbps up you may understand my point rather than posting the obvious about general internet speeds.

Put a game in first that does have the sense to open the ports up (COD4, MW2, GT5 etc), while your PS3 is turned on the router will not close them up and then when you put the blops disc in the nat will be open.

Though I will admit, some of the "porn" ones are actually quite clever.

According to Dwayne Dibbly, sorry i mean JD2020 this is an instant ban now.

The full list of changes is as follows:

    * Improved party reliability when leaving with party – an additional step in an ongoing series of party improvements continued in the next patch.
    * Improved UPnP functionality – further expands the game's capability to open NATs on routers with universal plug and play enabled.
    * Enabled mute functionality in Playercards in the pre-game lobby.
    * Enabled kick functionality in party and private match lobbies.
    * Addressed an issue where the pre-game lobby would not always display properly when multiple players leave the lobby after a team split.
    * Addressed an issue where the pre-game lobby would appear stuck on the countdown timer while waiting to balance teams.

Just tried it for an hour and its much improved.

Seem to be getting a fair bit of abuse on this just now. Messages iv'e recieved in the last 2 weeks include.

    'you bellend'

    'Camping f**ker'

    'Ghost Pro,Ninja Pro,Motion Sensor. Your a c**t'

'We can't touch you because your a camping prick'

    'you suck'

    'Fu**ing camping ar******'

    'Die'

    Seems i'm a popular guy.

Iv'e recieved more ,but i normally just 'block communications' which deletes the message,so i can't remember them all.

It's Mostly from kids that have MLG gamer pics. I have nothing to hide,my stats prove i don't camp and 9 times out of 10 i have the most captures in domination. I don't use what i consider cheap ways to rack up kills ie. Ak74-u,Rc cars, noob tubes or second chance and my stats reflect this. In fact my most used gun is the m16,which is considered underpowered on alot of forums.

I'd love to message them back and tell them to f**k off but i'd probably get reported and banned knowing my luck, and i refuse to stoop to thier level.

when playng with dsGB i usually get a few requests and invites but no hate mail. even with 6.0 k/d on a fluke game

Iv'e had a few friend requests and game invites aswell, but amongst all the hate mail i'm sceptical. My Overall K/d ratio stands at 2.02 but is going up every day.

This is on xboxlive though, which i find is alot more 'vocal' than PSN.

Back on topic, The montion sensor is the most underused bit of equipment in the game, even better than claymores for watching your back or keeping an eye on objectives in domination .It even picks up ghost users and It's now the first thing i buy when i prestige.

Claymores just don't cut it for me anymore,i got fed up with people running through them even without Flakjacket equipt.
