WOW Seriously? :eek: they didn't WIN anything...man that's so disappointing, not at least 3 awards man that's sad, I'd hate to be in their place now..They definitely should of won awards for best scene and best villian, I can't believe they didn't get anything, I wish I got the chance to vote
I'm a Corrie watcher too,Frank wasnt too bad a villain but Silas was definitely more memorable,Jeff should have got the award,not surprised the Becky plot won though
I remember the days in the 90's when if a TV/soap mag had an awards you had to fill out an entry form - in other words - one vote per person.
As an ardent Corrie fan in the early 90's I still have a little clip cut from a What's on TV which had the winners of their Soap Awards in a particular year. I doubt anyone bought 100 copies of that TV mag in order to mass vote!
Now, of course, there's probably a multitude of ways people can mass vote. It's never been fair.
Danny Miller used to beg his fans TO mass vote for him - which is probably why someone voted for him 900 times!
I'm not saying the Silas storyline wasn't good but the soap serial killer is the oldest cliche in the book and although Jeff Rawle did it very well there wasn't really anything original about it.

Everything has been done loads of times in soaps, half the problem with soaps these days is the ridiculous lengths the storyliners will go to in order to try and find a new 'issue' to deal with.
They should concentrate on telling a simple story well rather than having people shag totally incompatible partners, or murder for no reason or whatever the latest buzz story is.
It was an absolute injustice that HO did not win some awards for the Silas storyline. I am shocked that it never even made the shortlist for best storyline. Jeff Rawle most definitely deserved to win, no question.
All that said, I really think ES needs to seriously raise her game or leave. I love her enthusiasm for the show, but since she took over there have been no big storylines. The fact that the last big one was Silas, which ended 6 months ago, says it all! Surely she should have kicked off several big exciting long runners by now? Granted there have been some truly lovely moments, but I don't believe the show under Emma has any sense of purpose or direction.
She is now enthusiastically promising that HO will kick ass next year. I really hope she is right, but since she took over she keeps promising so so much and delivering so so little.

Hollyoaks by all means had a fantastic 2011. This year, not so much fantastic but average but 2011 was fantastic. Solely due to the Silas storyline!

No, she finished that quite a while ago. 2009/2010, I think? I know she did a stint in the Phantom sequel, Love Never Dies, after it.
