episode 11/30, series 7: All Change

Evening all. I know there is a thread in the Soaps section, but most of the usual posters some to the TV shows forum to discuss the show. I don't want to be thought to be treading on mikarimmer's toes :o

Bethaneeny asked me to post the thread for tonight. I thought it would be better to start a new thread, even if this is the continuation of series 7, as the old one was getting rather long.

Here are the spoilers from oldradiotimes.com:
Karen Fisher's "mollycoddling ways" do not impress her successor, super-head Michael Byrne (Alec Newman, see right-hand page), a hard-liner who bears the scars of out-of-control pupils. Literally. He was stabbed by one. He's brought in high-achieving staff (Holby City's Jaye Jacobs and The Bill's Alex Walkinshaw), as well as policies that go down with the old guard like detention duty on a sunny Friday. Add a gang of lads who've been excluded from everywhere for unruly behaviour (they make naughty boy Finn look like an angel), a couple of youngsters with a secret (and not just that their dad is played by John Thomson) and this term looks like it's going to be a tough one.

    Really looking forwards to this!
Everytime theirs a new head I'm convinced I'm not going to like them but experience tells me I shall soon be heralding Michael Byrne as the greatest head teacher ever! well not ever but I'm pretty sure I'll end up liking him!

Going to be good to see Matt Wilding again! I'm hoping this is going to be a good series!

    - New head coming in with different ideas to run a school compared to the old one, no doubt causing Grantly and Tom to moan - check

    - New 'bad lad' pupils causing trouble, no doubt straight A students by end of series - check

    - Some new teachers being related to other new teachers and/or pupils - check

    - Head has had a relationship with another member of staff in the past - check

and no doubt, all memory of previous cast and/or storylines completely ignored!

All of the above has been done before when Karen Fisher joined or when Max Tyler joined, therefore it doesn't sound too exciting at the moment, hopefully it will translate well on screen.

The new teachers seem ok so far, Although I'm not sure about the head. The afro kids seem annoying though, it was a relief when the old favourites turned up.

Scout seems to have scrubbed up a bit better than last term.
