Frozen sprouts make a tasty alternative to boiled sweets, and they don't rot kids' teeth.

When out driving, always turn left. That way if you get lost, you can find your way home by always turning right.

Don't go out to sea in a rowing boat with a big hole in the bottom.

If it had a big hole in the bottom it wouldn't really make it past the beachhead. :p

Need a stand for your smartphone? Got an old plastic card lying around?

Two quick folds and you're in business. Here's one I just made with an old AA membership card.

If anyone likes to use a primer under their make up, try Lanacane anti chafing gel instead. It's pretty much exactly the same thing but way cheaper. I used Smashbox photofinish which costs £30 for a tiny bottle for ages until I read that tip on a make up artist's forum. A tube of this stuff costs about £5 and lasts me months.

For smelly kitchen sink plugholes . Pour in a handful of dry bic of soda , then pour some vingegar over it . It fizzels up and hisses . Leave it stand for about 5 minutes then pour some boiling water over it to flush it down . Especially good for the smell that double sinks seem to emit from the plugholes
