Yeah messed up for me, switched to SD and was fine. Thought it was my box, so restarted it, and I guess it settled down after that.
My picture skipped a few frames back and forward as well - very annoying but again settled down after around 15 mins or so. And was disappointed by the PQ as well - the outdoor scenes lacked that wow factor you usually get with HD films.
I didnt watch it myself but i wouldnt be surprised if the picture was below par after all it is BBCHD
I think you've revealed some personal bias, or an agenda.
Sound was distorted for about half a minute at the start then was corrected (causing a picture glitch) but otherwise, vision in HD was very good for me. Have recorded both films ready to burn to DVD at under 6GB each. But only half a BD!
On the Panny BD recorder, Lion Witch Wardrobe was free of copy restriction but sadly, Prince Caspian was 'copy once' restricted in HD. I wonder why the difference?
But considering the file size for 2+ hour movies in HD, the quality is good.
I sat down to watch my recording of Prince Caspian and noticed all the sound problems. My Amp showed DD 5.1 when all the sound distortion occurred and switched quite a few times between DD 5.1 and just Pro-Logic. I noticed that most of the movie ended up not being in DD.

Ooops, BD not DVD. Too late to edit. Wrong board too, I recorded it on Freeview.
First time I watched the film all the way through and enjoyed it.
The Sound Of Music had the same sound issues too.
