Hands up who else thinks Midwest look very petty and ridiculous by doing this?

Is there any point in using the radio now? My work plays Heart, not allowed to use headphones AND my girlfriend loves it.

Does anyone really look at radio station websites?

Their competitor has just handed them a USP on a plate, why shouldn't they boast about it?

Has anybody noticed that Jason Donovan nearly always kicks his show off with a Wham tune?

The Dorset breakfast show comes from the Yeovil studio's so not totally local radio in that respect.

Time will tell whether it will increase their figures or not...........

Judging by their music I would say it won't matter one bit. What's all THIS about?

    11:39
    Dead Ringer For Love
    Meatloaf

    11:49
    One Vision
    Queen

    11:53
    All Time Low
    The Wanted

    11:57
    The Tears Of A Clown
    Smokey Robinson & The Miracles

    Oh. My. God.

    Crap FM.

Oh hang on though, some of the anoraks on here think this is what "local" radio should be playing. Right?

Yes if the radio station gives them a good reason to but if the website is awful when they do log on it'll be twice as hard to get them to log on again.

well, lets think............THE CURRENT UK NUMBER ONE

being played on ALL the major music tv channels, and has been for at least three months

still, in another 18 months, when dimwit denise, and halfwit helen give it the "thumbs up" at your music research session, you'll be on it, like you were with sex onfire:rolleyes:

I think the point is The Wanted is fine on a CHR or Hot AC station, and Smokey Robinson is fine on a Gold station, but both on the same station?

Fans of 60s Motown aren't normally fans of 2010 boybands and vice versa.

You can play 60s next to 10s, as Radio 2 prove to great effect, but not just ANY songs - they have to be credible.

I think you'll actually find The Heart Network ARE playing The Wanted and have been for some time.

Still, it does at least prove that the Heart bashers can't be bothered to do any research before they post. Heart bash first, ask questions later!

My point is that two old noisy rock songs into The Wanted will NOT work. And to follow it up with a 60's mowtown song is just too extreme.

I know this is off topic but who EXACTLY are they targertting?

At least get your facts right before you post and end up looking silly.

The Wanted have been playing on Heart for the past three weeks at least.

But then you wouldn't know that as you don't listen, eh? ;)

Welol, the split links on Heart home counties Sunday morning really took the biscuit!

Just before 1100, on 103.3 mk we said hello to Jennifer in Bletchley who is walking the dog.

At the same time on 96.9 Bedford we said hello to Jennifer in St Neots who is walking the dog.

Didnt hear Northants or luton, but suspect she was walking the dog in towcester and Dunstable as well.

This is radio of the worst, most cynical kind, treating the listeners as idiots....

And they want to rival radio 2...you have to be joking....

Nah, the dog took the biscuit after the walk. Though if the dog was walking from St Neots to Bletchley it may have more than one.:D

Smaller stations play a mix of hits & oldies. That is the format that always works the best. There is nothing wrong with any of those oldies on that station at all. All great songs that did well in the charts in their day & people still love and all sound good on the radio

The Wanted are just another "now" group with a mediocre song that won't be played in 2 years time by anyone except Heart who have an interest in it. For now though it's the #1 song so they play it.

As for the website...good on them. Anything that hilights to ordinary people the disgraceful actions of Heart & Ofcom has to applauded. Personally, i would have gone further & named the stations that were no longer local

The objections raised are because Heart are trying to keep ordinary people in the dark as much as possible.

i notice the "three musketeers" have failed to respond to this post:rolleyes:

especially as they have the audacity to refer to other broadcasters as "tinpot FM"
