Challenge: Find me the name of this movie
I've watched many horror films and like my asian ones but there is one film I saw a few years ago that I couldn't think of the name for and I've suddenly remembered it again. Any help?
It's Japanese maybe
Two scenes I can think of in it.
1. Someone was researching for something and was in this flat/small house looking for answers. This small house was where someone had committed suicide. (I think) this person researching I believe saw the ghost of the suicider
2. Towards the end of the film two of the protagnists (I think it was two) are in this abandoned hospital? and whatever they were looking for involved experiments using a sensory Deprivation tank. I think the main ghost had died in one and I think the main ghost was female.
It has been a few years so my memory is very sketchy but the tank I definitely remember. I think there were some flashbacks involving it too
Edit: It's not altered States or Dark Water and I think might have been a mid 90's film. Possibly a little later

Ring 2 has scenes in a mental hospital and they use a pool at the end, so some similarities.
Thanks but it's not Ring 2. It's not a well known one from what I recall.
The only film I can think of with ghosts and sensory deprivation experiments would be the BBC's infamous Ghostwatch.
I don't remember it as being as straight up horror as Ju-On it was I think more a mystery with ghostly elements.

Definitely wasn't a found footage style film.
Hmm I seem to remember the female who became a ghost was murdered after being locked in the tank. And I think maybe the guy/old woman (not sure) who committed suicide was related to her? And I seem to remember a closet involved with that.
I keep thinking it;'s the film May but I know it's not which has me wondering if the title of the film was a woman's name? (and I am fairly certain it's not Tomie but I might be wrong I need to double check the plot for those films)
