Nazi christmas tree decorations.

The other night "Christmas Tales -story of the tree" showed some Nazi branded christmas tree decorations.

I never knew they existed. For obvious reasons, I would imagine that most were destroyed. Any that remain would probably be worth a fortune.

But who would dare put them on their tree!!!

Were these actual Nazi decorations from that period , if so then maybe they were some remenants from this story

What "nazi" symbols are we talking about?

The mirror image of a swastika is, apparently, a native american symbol that's been around for thousands of years.
People often see that and assume some nazi influence.

A few years back I went in a pub at Christmas in a seaside town where I was on holiday at the time

The publican was very odd and when I moved to the back of the pub to find a table I noticed that all the tinsel on the wall was in the shape of swastikas and then on closer inspection there was other nazi memorabilia about

I drunk up sharpish and left

"Their plan was to remove the emotional ties of the Church and merge Christmas into a Julfest, a celebration of winter and light which drew on pagan traditions." -

Well, I never expected to agee with something the Nazi's tried to implement. You learn something new every day.

They were shown in the segment of the programme that was talking about Christmas tree decorations during the war.

If anyone's interested, the programme was on the BBC, so it will probably be on the BBCi player.

    The Nazis loved Christmas.

Not only was it celebrated with the old pagan traditions but it gave Goebbels, Goering & co the chance to get out and smile for the cinema news whilst giving gifts to little blonde children.

I think the native americans used it comparitively recently. However you are right to say that it has been around for thousands of years. According to wiki, there is physical evidence of its existence from neolithic times.

The swastika used to appear on the title page of books by Rudyard Kipling, and on the banners Boy Scouts used to march under. It's simply a good luck symbol.
