I assume this means that Channel 1 will not air in Feb?
That does indeed seem the case. It had been mentioned that it will close end of Jan, so we know that for certain now, as Sky Atlantic is meant to take over.
As for the actual logos, seem fine to me, once they are on screen they will be translucent and done. What I am more interested in is the programmes. Looking at Sky 1, it looks very bare compared to Sky Atlantic.

Channel 1 already announcing on air that they close at the end of January 2010.
Is this an old post or a spoof?
All the documents are shown as Feb 2010 - if it were official it would be Feb 2011 wouldnt it?
It is totally legitimate. The website they are hosted on is the official Sky Programme Information website. It must be a typo for it to say 2010. You can access them by clicking on the Highlights link, and then the month you are interested in.
Definitely not a fan of the new Sky1 HD logo - it will be a shame for the excellent package used now to go after only two years on air. But at least all of the Sky channels will now have a unified look - except Sky Arts which doesn't have a block logo does it?

Yes but that is not a Sky website, it is owned by Atticmedia Ltd of London. So this is not official Sky information is it?
"If you do not currently receive our monthly Preview booklet and would like to, please e-mail erica.walduck@bskyb.com."
Take a look at the amendments page below - do you really think some amateur has produced all of the following? You would need a full-time team of several staff:

It is an official Sky website. Hence why on the contact page it tells you the Sky person in charge of it (Ben Goulden) as well as email details for all the relevant employees, under the 'bskyb.com' domain name.
Good to see "Big Love" finally getting another outing on British TV - maybe this time we'll get past the first two series with more consistent scheduling than Five managed?
I like those logos, they're consistent with the existing logo for the sports channels.
Interesting that BSG is being repeated on Sky Atlantic. That was a Sky 1 show in previous years.
Consistent with Sky News and Sky Movies too. Sky 1's logo is rather boring... perhaps they should go back to using ONE instead of 1. I see Living kept the |/ format for the V as used in the old logo, while adapting it to Sky's corporate typeface.
If you look closely at the details of the programmes on offer, it turns out that many of the Sky Atlantic ones are series repeats even if they are good quality ones.
I am not sure that Sky's messing with Living channel will succeed. That was a strong brand with a predominantly female demographic and now they're messing it up by changing the name to Sky Living and by putting macho stuff like Chuck, etc. on Sky Living when for example, How to Make it in America might be better on Sky Living rather than Sky Atlantic.
With Living, Sky are trying to fix something that wasn't broken in the first place and they risk making a dog's breakast of a channel with more limited audience appeal.
Well, all I can say is that I will be watching more on Sky Atlantic than I will be on Sky 1.
I've never seen The Sopranos and Six Feet Under so will now get the chance...and in HD.
Loved Battlestar Galactica and again will get the chance to see it in HD.
Then there is the new stuff like Broadwalk Empire and Treme,

It is yet to be confirmed whether Sky Atlantic or (Sky Atlantic HD) will be on Virgin Media.
If it is not (whether both versions or just the HD version), then this may play a part in decisions re where programmes go.
ie Sky may be tempted to strengthen Atlantic at the expense of Living.

Releaved or released?

And no chance of a return of Dream Team to fill up some programming hours?
Thank you for posting these links, telecult.

What will happen to LIVINGit and LIVINGLoves? Do they get new logo's too?
