I have read the book A Casual Vacancy, it was really good. I am interested in Indian Summers as my dad was out there in the army until 1938. I love Mr Selfridge too and do get annoyed that Saturday nights TV is rubbish yet Sunday is crowded with good programmes at the same time. I shall watch Casual Vacancy, record Indian Summers and watch Mr Selfridge on +1.

I am going to do the same. I feel most sorry for people like my bright 94 year old relative who would probably like to watch all 3 programmes but doesn't have
+1 or access to digital recording so will have to choose. She was better off in some ways before the digital switchover with her old TV and video recorder.
BBC 1 has The Casual Vacancy
ITV has Mr Selfridge
Ch 4 has Indian Summers
Never understand why three huge dramas are being scheduled against each other.
I think Casual Vacancy will get the highest ratings but Mr Selfridge and Indian Summers will struggle
Totally bad scheduling!. I will prob watch Mr Selfridge and catch up on the other two to add to my list of catch up tv - I work nightshifts. I think Indian Summers will get the highest rating for the first episode, double spread ads for it in all the Sunday papers today.
I like seeing threads for new series, gives me a heads up on programmes I might otherwise have missed. I would not have started watching Wolf Hall if it had not been discussed on DS prior to broadcast.
That series really sounds promising as I love period dramas. I didn't watch it tonight, I'll watch it tomorrow on 4OD. My internet connection has been dropping all day.
It is a bit confusing Hopefully it will start to make more sense as the series goes on.
Don't understand how it made it past the script stage, you have to grab your audience's attention in the opening episode and this has completely failed to do that. In the words of Dragon's Den, which I've turned over to, "I'm out!"

God that annoys me.

When faced with multiple threads on the same subject I normally post on the one that was started first. Sorry if this seems to bother you.
Sorry, but I didn't realise that "anybody watching it?" has any other meaning.
I think so. I knew I recognized him from somewhere
I think it might be the same baby that was on the train. One minute it's there then it's not. lol

It's the last years of colonialism. Ghandi's in jail.
Stories of Indian and English families.
