I've never found the "horse" look very attractive, maybe it's something in the water but there seems to be a lot more people with their eyes on the sides of their heads these days.
My eyes are a bit too far apart, at least for what's considered the universal "ideal". Perhaps not to a Jackie Kennedy degree, more like Lily Cole. I'm more comfortable with it now than I used to be, since it's been bigged up a lot recently and often deliberately exaggerated with makeup when I do runway stuff. My sisters both have beautiful close-set eyes. I've always been a smidge jealous. I've been told my eyes make me look dopey on occasion and I've never managed to get past that.
It's just a figure of speech. The "ideal" (or at least "standard") distance between eyes is supposed to be equal to the width of one eye. Mine's getting on for double that, so clearly I'm part martian or something.
The use of the word "too" in the title is key.
If anyone has anything considered "too", e.g. fat, thin, eyes far apart, eyes close together etc. then it will be unattractive to that person.
