These people who have "a second honeymoon" - isn't it just an excuse to have a Holiday away from the kids? Selfish, imo!
Selfish or not, I NEED one, we didn't get a first honeymoon, we were supposed to go away for our 10 year anniversary and we couldn't cause I wasn't well enough to go, and still am not, but I would love to go away with him for a couple of days just me and him, chomping and dancing, and looking at stuff it would be great:o
It's just shagging with the lights out in a hotel room paid for by vouchers from some newspaper offering a special deal of some kind. She packs her best british home stores nightie and he brings a viagra tab he got off his mate from work
Wouldn't you feel guilty leaving them behind? "Where's Mummy and Daddy? Why did they leave me?" etc
My kids are old enough not to ask questions like that! They are also old enough to understand that the odd weekend is nothing in the grand scheme of things.
No, I don't feel guilty for leaving them behind - it's not like I do it on a regular basis. I have been a parent for over twelve years and been away without them for a grand total of 10 nights. It's hardly a huge amount. And we go on holiday about three times a year as a family so it's not like they're missing out!
I have left my kids on three occasions. The first time for a week when they went to my sister's - they were thrilled to be staying with their cousins for 6 sleepovers! They thought it was fantastic!
The last two occasions were weekends when we went away with a group of other adults on a wine tour. They were relieved not to be going, to be honest. And again had a ball staying with cousins once and friends the second time.

Or it could just be selfish like you say

Good thing no one cares about your opinion then
We got gazzumped and had to use our honeymoon money to up the deposit on another house:mad:......
oh well....every day has been like a honeymoon since.....well almost every day...:D
I never for one second thought they did But at least I have an opinion on the subject
It would be selfish to have every holiday without their kids.
