Got the email and at least Newton Abbot is now scheduled albeit August/September. Seems we are paying the same as other customers but getting a worse service. Another example of the postcode lottery I suppose.
Received an email this week thanking me for registering for the upgrade.
I registered 8 or 9 weeks ago.
It went on........'Our engineers are working flat-out to bring you this exciting.....blah blah blah. We'll be in touch when it's your turn.
They didn't say it'll be a long bloody wait though. I'm still waiting for the modem they said I'll need - It should have been with me nearly 2 months ago. Plus I'm in Leicester & don't even have cable DTV available in this area.
We really are the poor relations of the cable world
I got an email on June 10 telling me i had been upgraded to 10 mb but so far i am still at 2 mb with no answer from VM to my queries why?
They would have been better off not saying anything and just doing it rather than telling everyone about something they cant acheive in realistic timescales
I will just wait and when it happens it happens
I have been waiting very patiently for the 2MB to 10MB upgrade and I checked this morning and I'm at 9.86. Yesterday it was 2.08. I live in the Hemel Hempstead area, old NTL.
I was told a few weeks ago that my request to be upgraded from 2mb to 10 mb has been granted. Funny thing though, its still says 2mb on my virginmedia website, and yet on my ebill it says 10mb. So how do you measure the speed?

Same as Oxford.. You'd think being a University City and having a lot of students, VM would love to provide them higher speeds!!
Although when they are in University buildings, the speeds are stupidly fast!
Today I got it.
I'm now downloading 1mb/s and get a connection of 10mb
Belfast.
Students are the worst customers VM could have in lots of cases:D
They share their service across loads of PCs and run them flat out 24/7.
In many cases some of VMs most congested areas are those in which large populations of students reside!

Took me about 10-20 mins of downloading to be capped back to 2mb
I'm starting to lose my Patience fast!!

I've an awful feeling that some areas scheduled for July/August will still be waiting in September.
Have you signed up to the uplift? If you don't sign up it could be some months before you get uplifted.
Everyone that has signed up will be uplifted in August
