With Julia Louis-Dreyfuss involved, this had to make it onto my must-see list, but despite strong opening ratings in the US, I am not 100% sold on it yet. It's pretty funny, and things were going sort of fine until Wanda "It's-funny-cause-I'm-black" Sykes showed up. I can't tell if it's the usually contrived nature of white and black friendships on TV, or the simple fact that I find it difficult to imagine anyone being friends - let alone romantically involved - with the always loathsome miss Sykes, but it just felt a bit jarring the way this couple was introduced, and I'm not looking forward to future appearances.

Also, anybody wants to take bets on how long it will be before the hysterically unfunny brother is re-tooled out of the show.

Overall I liked it, but mostly for JLD. The writing is so-so, and the supporting cast range from OK to oh-my-god-what-were-they-thinking.
