Book gift advice

I know technically it could go in general advice but since I was specifically thinking books it could still go here. I want to buy a little thank you gift, for someone who is smart and a bit serious, but that will also be a bit of a laugh. I'm thinking something along these lines:

The elephant one would be good too, I might get that for same said friend!

Adopt a Book from The British Library is brilliant.
As all my family are avid book readers I have at various times Adopted a Book for them. You can pick which book to adopt so its personal and with the certifacte you get a ticket for 2 for a personal tour of the library going to the areas the public cant access.
