Not that anyone else will be interested, but Mark Ronson previewed one of Duran Duran's new tracks "Being Followed" on his East Village Radio show last night. I know their previous album was awful, but this is absolutely brilliant. Sounds like the Duran Duran I remember from 1981:

New album "All You Need Is Now" out next month apparently. Can't wait.

Sounds good great to hear them as you used to they have released an awful lot of crap the last 2 decades.

We're a dying breed but I still love Duran Duran. This sounds great. Very like their early 80's sound.

Not a bad teaser, can't wait for more!

"All You Need is Now" should be good from what I heard a few months ago.

Am I the only one that loved their last album. Red Carpet Massacre? I think some people were biased against it because they don't like Timbaland, but it was actually quite good if you listen to it. It took the Duran Duran sound and made it modern.
I don't care for this clip. It sounds too 80's and dated and a step backwards for them. I like some 80's music, but I refuse to live in a time warp. But I guess I"m in minority since most people want the old 80's sound.

I've seen reports that the new album is intended to be as if it was their third release after Rio. They have purposely recorded the album in the style which they used for their early albums. I for one am certainly looking forward to hearing all the tracks. Wish they would confirm release date.

i like timbaland, but i think that album just lacked decent songs. astronaut was the best thing they did since the 80s

I liked RCM, it wasn't great, but it was definitely listenable.

I definitely like this clip, and await the full album with interest.

I think the main problem with RCM is that it sounds more like a Simon Le Bon solo record rather than a Duran Duran record with a band feel to it. Had some good moments though and not quite as bad as some make out.
I do think the new album has the potential to be their best in decades.

I quite liked RCM but i think it suffered as there was a complete overdose of Timbaland and JT at the time - I mean, what songs did they NOT produce or guest on that year??

I really like the sound of this tho, very promising for the new album. BTW I know Ronson doesn't want the song all over the net but he sounds like a complete prat on the clip - bedroom DJ or what? :o

I totally agree with you about Timbaland and JT. People were just sick of them. But I think the Duran Duran album was great. It's funny, I'm a huge fan of Madonna but I just hated what Timbaland and JT did on her album Hard Candy. RCM was much better than HC because it retained the essence of DD while to me HC didn't even sound like Madonna.
Mark Ronson's voice annoys me, He talks really strangely. Some people say it's because he's lived here and in the US so he has a mixed accent. But I've lived in both countries and I don't sound like that or hop I don't!

CD-quality clip of the new song, without Ronson talking over it, can be found here:

    http://www.spinnermusic.co.uk/2010/11/10/duran-duran-videos-tour-new-album/1

Album will be released to iTunes on December 21st and will then get a physical CD release in February :)

It only has 9 tracks, but then again so did the first two albums and they were masterpieces, so....

I've heard snippets of All you Need is Now, Runaway, and Being followed and I love them all!
It sounds like the Duran I fell in love with - cracking basslines, tight rhythm section, arpeggiators.... All the sort of stuff that's en vogue at the moment in fact - but done by the godfathers of pop

I wasn't too crazy about the samples, but now that I've heard all of All You Need is Now, I absolutely love it.

Yeah, sounds good. Sounds like something from Astronaut, one of my favourite DD albums (after the debut and Notorious) which can only be a good thing!

"Mediterranea" is already my favourite track of 2010, it's absolutely fantastic and much better than "All You Need Is Now". Sounds just like classic Duran Duran and could easily be a B-Side off Rio, in fact the quirky guitar is the same one used on their 1982 B-side "Like An Angel".

Another review of the album, the second one with nothing but praise for the record: http://blogs.orlandoweekly.com/index.php/2010/12/impromptu-album-review-duran-duran-all-you-need-is-now/
