Everton are in for Negredo apparently. If we are interested in him then I'm sure we could beat any offer the Toffees make.
You'd think so, but I honestly think we won't have anyone else coming in today, which will be infinitely frustrating. Sure, there's probably a chance that Levy has been working behind the scenes, but football being football, I suspect something would have gotten out.
Porto have bought out Moutinho's third party ownership which would make a transfer deal less complicated, but would we still be willing to pay £20m for him and do we actually need him now?
I've been reading that we have made enquiries about a few strikers but Levy is only interested in loans with a view to buy in the summer. Clubs like Sevilla and Lyon want outright sales as they need the cash. Just can't see anyone in on that basis unless it's already been pre-agreed eg Callejon.
On the DB and JJ deals let's hope HR is serious. BTW QPR have officially denied via Twitter that Townsend is having a medical there. Also, apparently Hudd has spoken to Fulham but doesn't fancy a move there.
Edit; Gomes tweeted he's on his way to Germany for a medical. No other details.
Good luck to Gomes. Looks like it's just a loan as he's said he's back on 5 months. Either way, I hope he gets game time and works out to be a good move for him and his family.
Reported that Negredo's representatives are in the country doing the rounds. Looks like he will be agreeing personal terms with someone today. Everton appear to be in the driving seat though.
The last couple of games are a worry. Seems rumours and the creep of today affect the spirit. Whilst those in the spotlight for possible off loading shouldn't influence the first team regulars, it has created the possibility of changes in relations and even those comfortable wondering if a new signing may undermine their role.
The sooner it's over the better. No repeat of last season and with no more injuries of note, let's have a solid run to the end of the season.
Just got back home to catch up. It sucks waiting for my insurance cheque so I can get a new phone and get back to the 'real' world of internet on the bus
Anyway, I do hope Gomes gets a chance to resurrect his career in Germany. Totally agree with shelley that he's been class for us when he's played. I just hope with Lloris, our history of treating our keepers poorly has come to an end.
Looks a bit quiet everywhere else though, but that's no real surprise.
^I can't watch that at work so don't know what it is.
I read some quotes from Gomes earlier that we played him injured for a good long while, and that he only trained once a week and had injections in his hip before every game. He wasn't complaining, he actually said he was happy to play for the team if it helped even though it caused him pain to play. He was talking about the time when he cried on the pitch at Stoke because of how much pain he was in with it.

While being interviewed through a car window as well!
Exactly !
Possibly the best thing i've ever seen

So that probably means we will end up with Hooper from Celtic!
Lisandro Lopes is also available but no news if we have enquired.

According to this, we are looking, but who knows?
This reckons we are ready to stump up £15m for Damiao, but again, we've heard it all before.

Tell the pilot to turn off the engines, Gomes can do the flapping by himself.
He deserves a better send off than that. He was class the season we finished 4th and played a huge part in that.
Yup, we were singing " I love you Gomes, you are the love of my life...." for most of that season.
