Puddy tat laryngitis

My older one (4) started making a gagging motion/sound on Sunday night, thought it might be hairballs but nothing coming up. Took her to vet yesterday and it turned out to be laryngitis! Vet suggested two possible causes: 1) contagious infection (apparently they can get mild cat flu even if they've had their jabs) or 2) inflammation caused by something catching in her throat (she eats grass which might be the culprit). She's had anti-inflammatory and painkilling injections. The gagging's stopped already, but her usually powerful miaow is a feeble croak at the moment! Just got to keep an eye on her now for a few days (and the other cat in case it was the contagious variety).

Just thought I would flag it up as potentially useful info - spoken to a couple of folk who agreed they didn't think about cats getting laryngitis but why not, I guess, if you think about it.
