Kay Burley - what's the deal , why so popular ?

I'm presuming she is Sky's favourite presenter as it seems that everytime I switch on Sky News it seems that she's on duty , usually the studio but if there's a it story she's out on location.

Just don't get it .

She has a way of delivering the news which grates on me personally and doesn't seem that outstanding to me , she hardly smiles and when she does, its a fake one .

She's far from attractive ( take a close look and imagine her without makeup first thing in the morning - yikes !) .

Any theories out there as to why she's the golden girl of Sky and better keep them clean :)

Given she's probably the UK's most despised "journalist" (outside the Daily Mail), I'm not sure you can really call her popular.

I suspect she's there because she is so loathed, and regularly gets Sky free advertising on Twitter.

Also, she may have noshed off a Murdoch.

It's like switching on Five Live every day at 2pm and complaining that Richard Bacon is always on. Maybe if you switched on Sky at a different time you'd see a different presenter.

Isn't there an identical thread in Broadcasting? Why start two?

She seems bloodthirsty when she's on location.

All it takes for evil to thrive is for good people to change the channel when Kay Burley comes on.

    Burley is the best !
A complete ice maiden , unflappable and takes no nonsense from anyone .

She likes nothing better than to wind up a celebrity or politician .
The only newsreader in Britain who doesnt seem to give a f*** about anybody :D

Thanks for that... she's still a lot saner than some of her Fox News counterparts however :o:(

Also the only news reader who would tell unsuspecting neighbours "Yeah, the child next door is probably not going to be found alive according to what the police just said to me, any comment on that?"

Well it was a touch insensitive I'll grant you that :o

But you could also argue that she was only telling the truth

I used to lust after her when she was on real telly a few years back.

I think she's trying to be like one of her sisters on Fox news, an over the top, no nonsense reporter, focused on the truth and exposing wrongdoing etc etc.

But she just comes across as clueless a lot of the time.

I'd say that's a prerequisite for the job.

I don't know if it's true, but I heard that when Kay Burley goes out on location the first seal is broken and she arrives atop a white horse.

She's a ridiculous person. Thinks she's a real life Lois Lane star reporter but she's thick as a brick and is as hard-hitting as a five year old.

How she hasn't been sacked due to some of her disgusting behaviour is beyond me.

Not at all, I'm sure there are thousands of men who climb the ladder the same way.

Basically every male lead in Hollywood has been to bed with a producer.

No-one is attacking her because she's a woman, they're attacking her for being an incompetent hack.
