I'm thinking more British ones - they make good escapism movies!

The Holiday is just sublime. I want Winslet's cottage in it.

    Winslet's cottage
or Diaz's villa thing would do for me! :D
The music in the Holiday is beautiful too :)

Yeah I can't work out whether I'd want the cottage more or the house in LA!

    Both would do fine.

*Makes a mental note to watch The Holiday at some point today*

Saw the Nativity with Martin Freeman last night. Very good. Not a "romcom" as such, but certainly a "com" with a little bit of "rom" in it.

As sad as I am I watch all those terrible made for TV American ones on Christmas24. Very formulaic - Girl meets boy, girl hates boy, girl falls in love with boy. :D

I love most of the films mentioned on this thread, except for The Holiday. It was OK, but I didn't think it was great, but a repeat viewing might help.

I'll add One Fine Day, When Harry Met Sally, Amelie (I always like it better in the winter), Just Like Heaven, Notting Hill, Sliding Doors, Two Weeks Notice, The Wedding Singer, Sabrina, Clueless, Splash, Groundhog Day, America's Sweethearts, Something's Gotta Give, Stage Beauty, Truth About Cats and Dogs, Strictly Ballroom., The Shop Around the Corner, It Happened One Night, Bringing up Baby.

Although, these are just romcoms and not really wintry romcoms; but there just romcoms that i like.

Love The Holiday, agree about the cottage, I would love to live somewhere like that.

A film what doesn't fit with the thread at all, but I always love to watch at Christmas, for unknown reasons, is Shakespeare in Love :D

I've just seen that Enchanted is being shown on New Year's Eve on the BBC. That's a perfect wintry romcom.
