Laptop to Hi-Fi question?

Hi,
Im confused as usual, I have a Technics SCHD350 hi-fi seperates system which is great quality.

I have heard of peeple connection a laptop up to this system then playing internet music through the seperates but I cant work out where or what type of cable I would need to achive this? Can anyone help?

Heres one suggesting this has been done?

There should be a 3.5mm stereo jack audio output socket on the laptop, you just need a lead - 3.5mm stereo jack to two phonos, it's a VERY common lead these days, and you should be able to buy it in any TV or electrical shop.

If you want better quality, then you can buy USB audio interfaces (about £25-£30), these offer stereo phono sockets IN and OUT, and allow high quality recording and playback without the limitations of the internal sound card.

    Thanx Nigel,
Not at home right now so cant verify but I'm guessing the 2 phono jacks go into the amp [hoping theres an input for this on the Technics amp!].

Is this the type of cable you refer too? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=360070989794&Category=31492&_trksid=p3907.m29

    Agin thanx for your input..
