I don't ever remember Galaxy playing My Chemical Romance or Razorlight, especially as in 2006 they were heavily focussed on their "number 1 for dance and r&b" sound, even more so with Galaxy Birmingham which was running a seperate, more rnb focussed playlist at the time. The only time they starting playing some guitar lead tracks was when Global took over and were trying to shoe-horn the current Capital sound onto them in 2010.

Nah they definitely did. Stuff like Keane and The Kooks too. Their songs weren't in high rotation, but I'd hear them once in a while. The only rock-ish songs I remember getting high rotation on the station were Sex on Fire and Use Somebody near the very end.

They're are recently fresh out of University from what I hear, a nice big gig to land as your first job though. Good luck to them.

That may be so, but they're cringeworthy. He sounds really childish and she keeps stumbling over her words :o

Come back Emma all is forgiven! She sounded so slick and natural.

So it won't be long before Friday and Saturday nights are simulcast on both stations then, like 1 xtra...

That won't happen. Capital FM will take the Avicii and Craig David shows because they are big names who are well known and it fills some of the gap left by Andi Durrant's departure.

Jaguar Skills will fulfill some of the specialist content which is expected of them and offer something different to the audience.

A simulcast won't happen for the very reason that listeners who want dance music on Saturday night will listen to Marvin as Radio 1 & 1Xtra is doing hiphop/R n B. They'll definitely stick with Marvin & Christian, two brilliant shows, and then playlist from 1am.

Why don't Capital/Xtra do listen again/podcasts? Would be good to download Jag's show and listen during the commute.

Now I like Capital, hence why I'm listening but they've played One Republic Counting Stars twice, just 60 minutes apart in the same show.

Even thats a bit much for Capital?

If you choose to listen on line, there is an option for "Listen Again" just above the first picture. I think the Jaguar mix is within the "Clubbers Guide" for Xtra and Will Cozens saturday show on Capital.

Been tuned in to Capital Extra the last few weeks and find it an OK station.
I know many are not happy about 96.9 and 107.1 though.
I think it plays a bit more dance than Kiss to.
Its a bit like the old Galaxy station.
Maybe it should have just launched on DAB.

For a CHR hats perfectly normal, Z100 & KIIS in the states sometimes spin songs 40 minutes apart.

No but as the new Capital is heavily infulanced by KIIS its by no means a mistake that Capital is nearly as tight.

So when is this actually on? I can't see it on the main network schedule.

What 'new' Capital? It's all well and good playing popular music but people don't want to hear the same song every hour.

New as in the Global era Capital. The figures for Capital and also Z100 and KIIS in the states say differently.

This is my point though. They don't normally play the same song an hour apart. From past experience normally the least amount of time between songs is at least two hours if not a whole show.

I seem to remember when the Network was launched they were spinning the big Rhianna song at the time very close to once an hour.

Same song 40 minutes apart on Capital, usually.

I don't think they start till it's nearly Christmas, as in a few days?

Normally 10 days before Xmas, give or take.

For some reason capital seem to think the classic christmas songs will freak its teen audience away! Which is simply not true, kids/teens love to hear Xmas songs as it's the most magical time of their lives.
