The Man From Snowy River is a good Australian western (with Kirk Douglas in dual roles), from the same producers Phar Lap is well worth catching and I would very much recommend Newsfront.

Also a more modern Aussie western, The Proposition.

Japanese Story is good. Not a comedy though. Gotta love Toni Collette.

The Horseman is a good gritty revenge thriller.

Road Games is about to come out on Blu-Ray for the first time anywhere. A great 80's thriller starring Stacy Keach and Jamie Lee Curtis.

    Picnic at Hanging Rock.

Its quite a slow film, but has a rare dreamy hazy atmosphere which draws you into its mystery and makes it quite eerie and strange.

You might have to be in a particular to mood to appreciate it, but I was fascinated.
