    maybe for people who don't want to play in 3D?

    I never use the 3d function anyway, I will be happily pay less for them to remove it. so it makes perfect sense.

    I would also like to see 2DS XL too

    Basically, it's designed for kids (though a lot of people my age are thinking of getting it too).

    No hinge - the traditional weak point on the DS/3DS line in the hands of kids.
    No 3D effect - no "damaging" eyestrain for the kiddies or risk of them accidentally turning it on.
    These cutbacks allow them to sell at the magic <£100 mark.
