Raises an interesting question really.....excluding festivals, what's the furthest you've travelled to see a specific act....can't think of anything too impressive myself, only London or Birmingham which is no distance at all comparitively....
it's a bit like football, you can plan a trip that 'happens' to involve a gig- I often have a look to see who is playing near somewhere I am going - e.g. tried to see Norah Jones when I went to Amsterdam and Fiorentina in Florence - didn't work out either time though. did get to see FC Brugge play a home match.
