Help with setting up ipod transferring music to it!! please

Hi

My dad has gone and bought a ipod nano 30gb and i don't know how to transfer music to it i put the data cable in and tried to transfer it via windows media player but to no avail there is no music files on it still :mad:

Any help would be appreciated(sp?) thanks!!

I transfer via I tunes.

The iPod and iTunes are designed to be used together. If you look at the adverts on TV they actually say iPod + iTunes. You can't use Windows Media Player, although you can use other apps but not officially.

yeh as suggested install itunes and all will transfer smoothly

Great thanks for the suggestions have installed itunes and the music is now on the ipod
