H&M online ordering problem

Afternoon lovlies.

Im trying to make an order on the H & M website.

I get as far as the checkout page.

I am choosing to pay by card. When this is highlighted it asks me for my date of birth.

Now......Ive put this in in every format ever invented. This is what it tells me...

"This Social security number seems incorrect. Please try again.
You have to be at least 18 years old to shop using credit.
Please verify your date of birth. Remember to use four digits when entering your year of birth.."

If I ignore the date of birth of birth box and just click "Enter card information" the page just refreshes.

And Im not even asking for credit. I want to pay now!

Anyone else having problems or does anyone have any idea what Im doing wrong?

Im assuming you are trying to use an english site as Social Secruity relates to america so wondering if that could be the issue?? (Unless of course you are in america then soz no idea)

    Im in the UK.

Just double checked and I am on the UK site. And more importantly, trying to pay on the UK payment page.

Im utterly confuddled. Ive even put my birth date in the american way to see if that can bypass it. Nope.

I've never been asked for a social security number for online ordering before, not even sure I have one.
    Something strange there.

Why don't you give them a call and ask them? I'm sure they will be able to help more since they run the store: 0844 736 9000

I have just tested it and the way to enter your DOB is thus:

    DDMMYYYY

no dashes, spaces, slashes and make sure your put 2 numbers in for month (ie 02) and 4 for year

Your welcome. :) The site really should show the format the date is required in because DOB can be done SO many ways.

Its crazy to not show the format. And to have the "social security" blurb come up too! I bet they have lost so much money by people who have given up.

    Schoolboy error there Mr H&M
